The Environmental Placement Programme (EPP) places students within Scottish Businesses to undertake projects with an environmental focus. It provides businesses with focused, low cost practical environmental support, whilst providing students with paid work experience in a commercial environment.

EPP NATIONAL Awards Ceremony 2009
This year the EPP National Awards Ceremony took place at Edinburgh Zoo, Budongo Trail, and the First Minister Alex Salmond presented the winning students with their Awards. The event was kindly sponsored by Edinburgh Zoo and Visit Scotland.
Describing EPP as “very much a ‘win-win’ programme“ and “a unique initiative which benefits students, companies and the environment,” The First Minister said it created extra capacity for companies to boost their environmental performance and improved their competitiveness by cutting overheads in areas such as energy and waste.
First Minister Alex Salmond presented Paul Johnson of Glenrothes, with a £500 cheque and certificate. Paul was placed with Malcolm Allan in Forth Valley. Runner-up was Colette Rhodie from Glasgow. Colette was assigned to Yooz, a subsidiary of charity “Active4all.
